이 인트론리스 유전자는 배아발달 조절 및 세포운명의 결정에 관여하는 그룹 CSOX(SRY 관련 HMG박스) 전사인자 패밀리의 멤버를 코드한다.암호화된 단백질은 다른 단백질과 단백질 복합체를 형성한 후 전사 조절기 역할을 할 수 있다.그 단백질은 발달하는 신경계에서 기능할 수 있고 종양 발생과 성인 신경 [7][8]발생에 역할을 할 수 있다.Sox11의 직접 타깃으로 Tuj1과 Tead2를 제안합니다.[9][10][11]
임상적 측면
SOX11 면역조직화학을 위한 림프구 염색은 다른 성숙한 림프종이나 정상 [12]림프구가 아닌 맨틀 세포 림프종(사이클린 D1 양성 및 음성)을 나타낸다.
SOX11의 돌연변이는 관-시리스[13] 증후군과 맨틀 세포 림프종과 [14]관련이 있다.
