IRF7은 Interferon Regulatory Transcription Factor(IRF) 패밀리의 멤버인 Interferon Regulation Factor 7을 부호화한다.IRF7은 I형 간섭 유전자를 포함한 바이러스 유도 세포 유전자의 전사 활성화에 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.특히 IRF7은 많은 간섭-알파 [5]유전자를 조절한다.IRF7의 구성적 발현은 주로 림프조직, 주로 플라스마사이토이드 수지상 세포로 제한되는 반면, IRF7은 많은 조직에서 유도된다.IRF7 전사 변형이 여러 개 확인되었지만, 이들의 기능적 결과는 [6]아직 확립되지 않았다.
IRF7 경로는 일부 전이성 유방암 세포주에서 침묵하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 세포가 숙주 면역 반응을 [7]피하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있다.IRF7을 이러한 세포주에 복원하면 동물 모델에서 전이가 감소하고 숙주가 생존하는 시간이 증가했습니다.
