원종 유전자 c-Rel 은 REL [5] 유전자 에 의해 인간에게 암호화되는 단백질 이다. c-Rel 단백질은 NF-δB 계열의 전사 인자의 일원으로 N-말단 및 2개 의 C-말단 트랜스활성화 도메인에 RHD(Rel homology domain)를 포함하고 있으며, c-Rel은 [6] 암 치료의 표적이 될 수 있는 골수성 체크포인트 단백질이다. c-Rel은 B세포 의 생존과 증식에 중요한 역할을 한다. REL 유전자는 확산성 B세포 림프종 과 호지킨 림프종 을 [7] 포함한 여러 사람의 B세포 림프종에서 증폭되거나 변이된다.
