탄다민은 선택적 노레피네프린 재흡수 억제제로 삼박자 구조다.[1][2][3]1970년대에 항우울제로 개발되었으나 상용화되지는 않았다.[1][2][3]탄다민은 피란다민과 유사하며, 대신 선택적 세로토닌 재흡수 억제제(SSRI) 역할을 한다.[4][5]
이번에 티오에테르를 메틸렌 그룹으로 바꾼 것이 AY 24614라는 시리즈의 가장 강력한 화합물이 드러났음에도 불구하고 정확히 같은 구조였다.[6]
