TRAIL 수용체 1 ( TRAILR1) 및 종양 괴사 인자 수용체 10A (TNFRSF10A )로도 알려진 죽음의 수용체 4 (DR4 )는 TNF 수용체 슈퍼패밀리의 세포 표면 수용체 로 TRAIL 을 결합하고 세포사멸 을 매개한다.[5] [6]
함수 이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 TNF-수용체 슈퍼패밀리의 일원이다. 이 수용체는 종양 괴사 인자 관련 세포사멸 유도 리간드(TNFSF10/TRAIL)에 의해 활성화되어 세포사멸신호를 변환하여 세포사멸을 유도한다.[7]
FADD 결핍 마우스들을 대상으로 한 연구는 이 단백질에 의해 매개되는 세포사멸에 대해 어댑터 단백질을 포함하는 죽음의 영역인 FADD 가 필요하다고 제안했다.[8]
상호작용 TNFRSF10A는 DAP3 와 상호작용 하는 것으로 나타났다.[9]
