IL-13Rα2는 인터루킨-13 수용체 복합체의 하위 단위인 IL-13Rα1과 밀접하게 관련되어 있다.이 단백질은 높은 친화력으로 IL13을 묶지만, 유의미한 세포질 영역이 전혀 없으며, 신호 중재자 역할을 하는 것으로 보이지 않는다.그러나 후자와 직접 결합할 수 없음에도 불구하고 IL-13과 IL-4의 효과를 모두 조절할 수 있다.또한 IL13의 내실화에도 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되고 있다.[5]
임상적 중요성
IL-13Rα2는 췌장, 난소, 멜라노마, 악성 글리오마 등 다양한 암에서 과다 발현된 것으로 밝혀졌다.[6][7][8][9]
