인터루킨-18 바인딩 단백질 은 인간에서 IL18BP 유전자 에 의해 암호화된 단백질 이다.[5] [6]
이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 염증 시토카인 IL18 의 억제제다. 이 단백질은 IL18에 결합하고, IL18이 수용체에 결합되는 것을 방지하여 IL18 유도 IFN 감마 생산을 억제한다. 이 단백질은 구성적으로 표현되고 단일핵세포에서 분비된다. 이 단백질의 표현은 IFN 감마에 의해 강화될 수 있다. 크론병 환자의 장 조직에서 이 단백질의 높은 수치가 검출된다. 이 유전자에 대해 동일한 단백질을 인코딩하는 세 가지 대본 변형이 발견되었다.[6]
