Mwerlap은 바누아투의 뱅크스 제도 남쪽에서 사용되는 오세아니아어다.
1,100명의 연사는 주로 메렐라바와 메리그에 살고 있지만, 상당한 비율도 가와 섬의 동쪽 해안에 정착했다.[2]게다가, 많은 Mwerlap 연사들이 바누아투, 포트 빌라, 루간빌의 두 도시에 살고 있다.
이름
그 언어는 그 섬의 이름을 따서 지어졌다.

Mwerlap의 개인 대명사 체계는 폐쇄성을 대조하며, 세 개의 숫자(가수, 이중, 복수형)를 구별한다.[4]
