Siracha(/sɪrætə/sih-RA-chə 또는 /sɪrrːtt//si-RAH-ch;; 태국어: ศีรรา,าา pronounced, [ːːːːːา], 발음 [ɕ].ɹɐ̄ː.ʃɐ̄] 오디오 스피커 아이콘(듣기)는 고추장, 증류식초, 마늘, 설탕, 소금 등의 반죽으로 만든 핫소스 또는 칠리소스의 일종이다.[2]

태국에서 siracha는 특히 해산물과 오믈렛에 찍어 먹는 소스로 자주 사용된다. 베트남 요리에서는 시라차(siracha)가 파와 튀긴 국수의 조미료, 스프링 롤(cheziò), 소스에 토핑으로 등장한다.[3]

기원

Siracha의 기원과 역사는 논의되고 있다. 한 보고에 의하면 이 소스는 시 라차(또는 스리라차) 마을에서 타놈 차카팍이라는 태국 여성이 처음 생산했다고 한다.[6]

In Thailand, the sauce is most often called sot Siracha (Thai: ซอสศรีราชา) and only sometimes nam phrik Siracha (Thai: น้ำพริกศรีราชา). 전통적인 태국 스리라차 소스는 맛이 타이가 아닌 버전보다 더 톡 쏘는 경향이 있고, 질감이 더 묽다.[7]

미국 아시아푸드 유통업체 이스트랜드푸드코퍼레이션은 본아페티트 매거진 인터뷰에서 이스트랜드가 유통하는 핫소스 스리라자 파니치의 태국 브랜드가 원조 '스리라차 소스'이며 타놈 차카팍이라는 주부의 레시피에서 1930년대 태국 시라차에서 탄생했다고 주장했다.[7]

미국

미국에서 siracha는 Huy Fong Foods에서[8][9][failed verification] 생산되는 소스와 연관되어 있으며, 병 위의 수탉의 이미지에서 "루스터 소스" 또는 "콕 소스"[10]라고 부르기도 한다.[11] 위스키 통에 숙성된 siracha를 포함한 다른 변종 siracha가 미국 시장에 등장했다.[12][13] Huy Fong Foods Sriracha는 1980년대 초에 미국 음식점에서 파는 요리를 위해 처음 생산되었다.[9]

미국에서 Wendy's,[14]이 애플비, proforma. 2013년 미국의 영화제작자 그리핀 해먼드는 시라차 소스의 기원과 생산에 관한 다큐멘터리인 시라차(Siracha)를 발매했다.[22]
