프리즐드-5는 인간에게 FZD5 유전자에 의해 암호화되는 단백질이다.[5][6][7]
'frizzzed' 유전자 계열의 구성원들은 Wnt 신호 단백질의 수용기인 7-transmbrane 영역 단백질을 암호화한다.FZD5 단백질은 Wnt5A 리간드의 수용체라고 여겨진다.[7]
