증기기관차 분류에 대한 Whyte 표기법에 따르면 0-2-4는 선행 바퀴가 없는 휠, 한 축에 동력 구동 바퀴 2개, 두 축에 후행 바퀴 4개의 휠 배치를 나타낸다.

역사

던디와 뉴틸 철도 0-2-4

이것은 가장 특이한 차륜 배열로, 알려진 유일한 예는 1833년 던디의 J와 C 카마이클이 4피트 6인치 던디와 뉴틸 철도에 공급한 3대의 기관차였다.[1][2] 이것들은 1847년에 아직 가동 중이었으나, 1849년에 노선이 표준궤로 전환되면서 폐기되었을지도 모른다.
