유비퀴틴 에 의한 단백질의 변형은 분해를 위해 비정상적이거나 단명한 단백질을 목표로 하는 중요한 세포 메커니즘이다.유비퀴티네이션 은 유비퀴틴 활성화 효소 또는 E1s, 유비퀴틴 결합 효소 또는 E2s 및 유비퀴틴 단백질 결합효소 , E3s의 최소 세 가지 종류 의 효소를 포함한다.이 유전자는 E2 유비퀴틴 결합 효소군의 일원을 암호화한다. 암호화된 단백질 배열은 마우스 호몰로그 와 100%, 개구리 및 제브라피쉬 호몰로그와 98% 동일합니다.이 유전자에 대해 두 개의 대체적으로 결합된 전사 변형이 발견되었고 그들은 별개의 동질 [6] 형태를 부호화한다.
