유비퀴틴결합효소 E2 G2는 인간에서 UBE2G2 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질이다.[5][6][7]
유비퀴틴으로 단백질을 변형시키는 것은 비정상적이거나 단명하는 단백질을 분해 대상으로 삼기 위한 중요한 세포 메커니즘이다. 유비퀴티테이션은 적어도 세 종류의 효소를 포함한다: 유비퀴틴 활성 효소, 또는 E1s, 유비퀴틴 결합 효소 또는 E2s. 그리고 유비퀴틴-단백질 결합체 또는 E3. 이 유전자는 E2 ubiquitin-conjugging 효소 계열의 구성원을 암호로 한다. 인코딩된 단백질은 100% 시퀀스 아이덴티티를 마우스 상대와 공유한다. 이 유전자는 성인의 근육에서 보이는 높은 발현과 함께 보편적으로 표현된다. 이 유전자에 대해 구별되는 ISO형식을 인코딩하는 두 개의 다른 분할된 대본 변형들이 발견되었다.[7] 우베2g2는 유비퀴틴, E3 gp78, Hrd1 RING 등 다양한 단백질과 상호작용하는 것으로 알려져 있다.
