Occupancy

건물 건축과 건축 법규의 맥락에서 "점용"이란 건물 또는 건물의 일부를 사람, 동물 또는 재산의 보호소 또는 지원을 위해 사용하거나 의도된 사용을 말한다.[1] 밀접하게 관련된 의미는 그러한 건물에서 임대, 임대 또는 사용 중인 장치의 수입니다. 이러한 의미에서, 거주 부족은 "바캉스"라고 알려져 있다.

건축코드

한 건물 내에서 여러 거주(또는 건물 용도)를 가질 수 있다. 예를 들어 고층건물은 소매점이 낮은 층을 점유할 수 있는 반면, 높은 층은 주거용이다. 건물 내의 서로 다른 수용지역은 규정된 내화 등급의 방화벽을[2] 통해 분리된다. 관통부(방화문 등)가 설치된 벽면 내화 등급보다 화재 보호 등급이 낮은 것이 일반적이다.[3] 예를 들어, 2시간 화재 분리를 위해서는 일반적으로 90분 정격의 방화문이 필요하다.

일부 높은 도전 수용인원의 경우,[4] 거주자 분리에 대한 코드 요건은 내화 등급이 동일하더라도 다른 방화벽에 비해 더 엄격하다. 이 경우, 2시간 내화 등급의 점유 분리로는 방화문과 방화벽을 "하락"할 수 없을 수 있다. 예를 들어, 2시간 정격의 "높은 도전 방화벽"[5]은 2시간 정격의 방화문이 필요하다.

거주자 분리 시 소방대는 동일한 화재 보호 등급(폐쇄 시 내화 등급)을 요구할 가능성이 더 높다. 또한 침투제를 포함한 파이어스톱 시스템의 구성부품이 평균 140°C(284°F) 이상 또는 단일 지점에서 180°C(356°F) 이상으로 상승하지 않도록 하여 노출되지 않은 쪽의 자동점화 가능성을 낮출 수 있도록 온도 등급을 제공해야 한다. 이와 같이 입주자 분리는 화재 발생 시 구조적으로 안정된 방화벽과 유사하게 취급되어 화재에 의한 건물 붕괴의 위험을 제한한다.

이런 의미에서, 많은 단독주택에는 차고와 집의 생활공간이라는 두 가지 수용인구가 있다. 자동차 휘발유는 인화성이 강하기 때문에 차량 화재가 발생할 경우 두 사람 사이에 거주자 분리가 필요한 경우가 많다. 온수기와 중앙난방은 연소에 천연가스, 프로판 또는 다른 화석연료의 사용을 위해 이 공간에도 종종 배치된다. 이것은 또한 일산화탄소 중독을 예방하는데 도움이 된다.

입주란 호텔 객실, 아파트 단지, 사무실 등 사용 중인 세대수를 가리킬 수도 있다. 모텔이 만원일 때는 NO BOUNCE 네온사인을 켜는 것이 일반적이다. 완전히 빈 건물도 범죄를 끌어들일 수 있다. 2017년 한 연구에서는 빈 건물을 철거하는 과정에서 "해당 블록 집단은 범죄를 약 8%, 인근 블록 집단은 5% 줄인다"는 연구 결과가 나왔다.[6]

Occupancy can also refer to the number of persons using an undivided space, such as a meeting room, ballroom, auditorium, or stadium. As with building codes, fire protection authorities often set a limit on the number of people that can occupy a space at one time. These limits are established primarily to allow all occupants safe passage through exits, but can also be employed to preserve the integrity of a structure.

An occupancy sensor is a device that can tell if someone is in a room, and is often used in home automation and security systems. These are typically more advanced than motion sensors, which can only detect motion.
