역사

칸바는 2013년 1월 1일 호주 퍼스에서 멜라니 퍼킨스, 클리프 오브레흐트, 카메론 아담스에 의해 설립되었다.첫해에, 칸바는 75만 명 이상의 사용자를 가지고 있었다.[14]2014년 4월 소셜미디어 및 기술 전문가 가이 가와사키가 수석 전도사(브랜드 프로모터)로 입사했다.[15]2015년에는 마케팅 자료를 중심으로 '칸바 포 워크'가 출시됐다.[16]

캔바는 2019년 5월 약 1억3900만 명의 사용자 데이터가 해킹되는 데이터 침해 사고를 겪었다.[27]노출된 데이터에는 사용자의 실명, 사용자명, 주소 및 지리적 정보, 일부 사용자의 암호 해시가 포함되었다.[28]칸바가 기술적인 관점에서 위반 사항을 처리한 것은 크게 칭찬받았지만, 고객들에게 보내는 초기 이메일이 자축 마케팅 콘텐츠 아래 세부 사항을 묻어버렸다는 비판에 직면했다.[29][30]

2018년에는 프리젠테이션 분야로의 확장의 일환으로 프리젠테이션 스타트업 제팅스를 미공개 금액으로 인수했다.[31]

2019년 5월에는 독일에 본사를 둔 두 개의 무료 주식 사진 사이트인 픽사베이(Pixabay)와 펙셀스(Pexels) 인수를 발표해 캔바(Canva) 사용자들이 디자인을 위해 자신의 사진에 접근할 수 있도록 했다.[32]
