Sarecycline은 좁은 스펙트럼의 테트라사이클린 유래 항생제이다.[1][2]여드름 치료를 위해 특별히 설계되었으며, 9세 [3]이상 환자의 비노드성 중간~중증 여드름 속염성 병변 치료를 위해 2018년 10월 FDA의 승인을 받았다.무작위화되고 잘 통제된 두 가지 임상 시험에서 얼굴 여드름과 간 여드름(등 및 가슴)[4]에 대한 효능 데이터가 보고되었습니다.효능은 [3]9세 이상의 총 2002년 대상자를 대상으로 평가되었다.다른 테트라사이클린계 항생제와 달리, 사레사이클린은 박테리아 메신저 RNA(mRNA)[5]로 확장되고 직접적으로 상호작용하는 긴 C7 부분을 가지고 있다.활성의 스펙트럼은 임상적으로 관련된 그램 양성 박테리아, 주로 큐티박테리움 아크네스로 제한되며,[6] 인간의 위장관에서 흔히 발견되는 그램 음성 세균 마이크로플로라에 대한 활성은 거의 또는 전혀 없다.Sarecycline은 스피로헤트에서 실험되지 않았다.
