이탈리아 토마토 파이는 토마토 소스로 덮인 두껍고 다공성인 포카치아 같은 반죽으로 구성된 이탈리아계 미국인과 이탈리아계 캐나다인 구운 제품입니다.[1] 로마노 치즈나 오레가노를 뿌릴 수도 있습니다. 보통 오븐에서 바로 나오는 것이 아니라, 식힌 다음 실온에서 소비하거나 재가열합니다. 시칠리아 피자처럼 토마토 파이는 큰 직사각형 팬에 구워지고 일반적으로 정사각형 슬라이스로 제공되지만 로드 아일랜드에서는 피자 알 타글리오처럼 직사각형 스트립으로 자릅니다.[2] 토마토 파이는 같은 요리는 아니지만 이탈리아의 스핀치오네에서 내려와 닮았습니다. 예를 들어, 스핀치온은 토핑이 있을 수 있고, 보통 뜨겁게 제공되며, 포카치아보다는 브리오슈와 더 유사한 껍질을 가지고 있습니다.[3][4][5]
