동물모자는 동물이나 다른 캐릭터를 닮게 만든 신기한 모자다.[1] 종종 비니와 비슷하며, 얼굴 이목구비, 귀, 때로는 수염과 같은 디테일을 더하기도 하지만, 이 이름으로도 가짜 털로 만들어진 버전도 알려져 있다.[1] 그들이 2010년 이전에 알려진 동안,[2] 동물 모자는 2010년에서 11년 겨울에 미국의 패션 트렌드가 되었다.[1] 동물 모자가 '심각한 패션 발언'임에도 불구하고 2012년 패션 인조 파스로 등재되는 등 계속되는 비난에도 불구하고, 그들은 2013년까지 인기를 유지했다.[3][4] 다양한 스타일의 동물 모자를 뜨개질하고 크로셰하는 것에만 전념하는 책들이 출판되었다.[5][6]
