스바루 B11S는 후지중공업이 2003년 제네바 모터쇼에서 선보인 콘셉트 스포츠 쿠페였다.[1]
디자인
모델 번호 "B11S"는 B(복서, 스바루의 수평으로 반대되는 엔진을 참조), 11(프리미엄 클래스를 나타냄), S(스포티브의 경우)에서 유래한다.[1] B11S는 4개의 도어를 쿼드 쿠페 방식으로 배치했으며, 후면 도어는 Mazda RX-8 및 새턴 이온과 유사한 방식으로 후면에 힌지를 부착했다.[2]
B11S는 스기모토 기요시가 이끄는 팀에 의해 스타일링되었고, 새로이 홍보한 다케나카 교지 대통령이 초기 안내를 제공하였다. 스기모토는 앞서 스바루 디자인부장을 맡기 전 1세대 스바루 레거시를 설계한 바 있다.[3] 에르윈 레오 힘멜이 이끄는 푸어 디자인 인터내셔널은 컨설팅 디자인 역할로 유지되었다.[4]
비행기에서 영감을 받은 그릴을 포함하여 B11S를 위해 만들어진 설계 구성요소는 생산 차량으로 운반되도록 설계되었다.[5][6] 안드레아스 사파티나스 스바루 디자인 수석 디자이너는 인터뷰에서 "B11S에서 물러나 눈을 흐리면 스바루의 미래 모습을 알 수 있다"면서 "혁신, 용기, 개성이 미래의 스바루 디자인을 알려줄 것"이라고 설명했다.[7]
기술
B11S는 3.0L(183인치3) 플랫 6 트윈터보 엔진으로 6,400rpm에서 294kW(394hp), 3,600~4,800rpm에서 550N³(406lbft)의 피크 출력을 자랑한다.[8] 6단 자동변속기는 스바루의 '가변 토크 분배' 시스템이 적용돼 있어 중앙 디퍼렌셜과 전자 제어식 클러치에 의해 전후축 간 토크 분할이 분배된다. 토크는 정상 주행 조건에서 프론트 35%, 리어 65%로 분할된다.[4]
