비관능성 3'-포스포아데노신 5'-포스포황산합성효소 1은 PAPSS1 [5][6][7]유전자에 의해 인체 내에서 부호화되는 효소이다.
3-프라임-포스파데노신 5-프라임-포스포황산염(PAPS)은 모든 술포트랜스퍼라아제(SULT) 효소에 대한 황산공여 코스기질이다(Xu 등, 2000).SLTs는 약물과 다른 이생균제를 포함한 많은 내인성 및 외인성 화합물의 황산염 결합을 촉매한다.인간에서 PAPS는 아데노신5-프라임3인산(ATP)과 무기황산염으로부터 PAPSS1과 PAPSS2(MIM603005)의 2개의 아이소폼에 의해 합성된다.[OMIM [7]제공]
