86번가 역은 4번가 선의 일부로 건설되었다.당초 섬 플랫폼 2개를 갖춘 4트랙 급행역으로 계획됐지만 결국 서부 승강장과 선로만 건설됐다.86번가가 포함된 노선 구간 공사는 1913년에 착공하여 1915년에 완공되었다.이 역은 1916년 1월 15일, 59번가에서 86번가까지 BMT 4번가 선의 연장선의 일환으로 개통되었다.역의 승강장은 1926~1927년에 연장되었고, 1970년대와 2000년대 후반에 다시 보수되었다.86번가 역은 2018년부터 2020년 사이에 보수되었고, 엘리베이터가 추가되어 1990년 미국 장애인법을 준수하게 되었다.

역사

시공 및 개구부

86번가 역은 4번가 선의 일부로 건설되었다.이 노선 계획은 당초 1905년 6월 1일에 채택된 뒤 1906년 6월 18일 뉴욕 대법원의 상소부로부터 예정 노선을 따라 재산 소유자의 필요한 동의를 얻지 못해 승인을 받았다.[8]급행운행위원회는 1907년 7월 1일 뉴욕주 공공서비스위원회(PSC)가 계승하였으며, PSC는 1907년 10월과 11월에 노선계획을 승인하였다.[9][10]

뉴욕시와 브루클린 고속철도회사(BRT), 인터버러 고속철도회사(Interborough Rapid Transit Company)의 도시 교통망 확대를 위한 협상의 일환으로 이 노선은 BRT의 자회사에 임대되었다.이중계약의 계약4로 알려진 이 계약은 1913년 3월 19일에 체결되었다.[9]1912년, 듀얼 시스템 협상에서, 86번가 역 바로 남쪽에 있는 43번가에서 89번가까지 4번가 전철 연장 공사를 권고했다.이 권고안은 1912년 2월 15일 추정위원회로부터 승인되었다.PSC는 수석 엔지니어에게 1912년 6월 14일 계획을 세우라고 지시했다.연장 두 계약인 11B번 국도는 1912년 9월 16일 데그논 건설회사에 총 380만 달러(2020년 1억190만 달러 상당)에 낙찰되었다.[9]

스테이션 리노베이션

1920년대

1960년대

1960년대 뉴욕시 교통국(NYCTA)은 10량 열차를 수용할 수 있도록 브루클린 남부 노선의 역 플랫폼을 615피트(187m)까지 늘리는 프로젝트를 시작했다.[20]NYCTA는 1967년 7월 14일 플랫폼 연장 건설(2020년 5만1109달러 상당)에 대비해 Bay Ridge Avenue를 포함한 4번가 선내 11개 역에서 6585달러(2020년 5만1109달러 상당)에 W. M. Walsh Corporation에 시험 보링 실시 계약을 체결하였다.[21]NYCTA는 1968년 5월 3일 이 역을 포함한 45번가 역과 베이 리지~95번가 사이에 있는 4번가 선의 역에서 승강장을 확장하는 사업에 대한 입찰 초대를 발표했다.[22]

프로젝트의 일환으로 메자닌에서 4번가와 86번가의 남서쪽 모퉁이에 두 번째 계단이 추가되었다.[37]메자닌의 장비와 승무원실은 ADA 호환 직원용 화장실과 라커룸을 설치하는 등 엘리베이터를 위한 기계 및 전기 인프라를 수용할 수 있도록 재구성되었다.또한, 역무원 부스를 휠체어 친화적인 높이로 개조하고 난간, 개찰구, 플랫폼 패널, 점자 표시장치, 전동 관문을 재구성하여 완전한 접근성을 제공하였다.[42]프로젝트의 일환으로 새로운 예술작품과 모자이크 밴드도 설치되었다.[38]그 프로젝트의 일환으로, 새로운 지도들이 시험 삼아 역 벽에 붙여졌다.[43]이 프로젝트의 일환으로 방송국의 통신 시스템도 업그레이드되었다.[44]MTA는 2017년 가을 예비 입찰자들에게 프로젝트 계약을 공개했다.[45]2017년 12월 엘솔체인지에 1,790만 달러 규모의 계약이 성사됐다.[42]

엘리베이터 공사는 2018년[42] 6월 시작돼 2020년 5월 말 완공될 예정이었다.[46]그러나, 뉴욕시의 COVID-19 대유행으로 인한 자원 부족 때문에, 완성은 2020년 7월 29일로 미뤄졌다.[47][48]이 프로젝트의 최종 비용은 36,055,077 달러였다.[46]

이 지하역에는 2개의 선로와 1개의 섬 승강장이 있다.[49]R은 항상 여기서 멈춘다.[50]

위의 플랫폼과 메자닌은 짙은 녹색 기둥을 가지고 있으며, 대체 기둥에는 "86 스트리트"[51][52]라고 쓰여진 흰색 글자가 있는 표준 검은색 역명판이 있다.선로 벽은 2011년 정거장 보수공사의 일환으로 모자이크 타일링이 복원되었다.[53][51]역의 남쪽 구간은 1970년 승강장이 확장된 곳으로, 터널 벤치월을 증축하는 대신 벽을 따라 모자이크 장식이나 타일이 없다.[23]그 플랫폼에는 모자이크 트림 라인이 있는 여러 가지 직원 시설들이 있다.[54]

충당금
