리버 드로, 라리탄 베이 스윙 브리지, 라리탄 강 철교라고도 알려진 라리탄 베이 드로브릿지는 미국 뉴저지 주 미들섹스 카운티의 라리탄 만으로 비우는 곳에서 0.5마일(0.8km) 떨어진 라리탄 강을 건너는 철도 스윙 브리지다.퍼스 암보이(Perth Amboy)와 북쪽, 남쪽 암보이(South Amboy)를 연결한다.[3]

역사

이 다리는 뉴저지 중앙철도(CNJ)와 펜실베이니아 철도(PRR)가 공동으로 운영하는 1875년 건널목과 롱지점철도(Long Branch Trail)에 건설한 교량을 대체하기 위해 1908년 건설됐다.[1]공사가 거의 끝나갈 무렵, 그 다리는 다이너마이트 폭발로 파괴되었다.[2]완공된 지 몇 년 후, 그 다리는 혹독한 겨울 폭풍으로 손상되었다.[4]이 다리는 CNJ/PRR 시대 이후 펜 센트럴(1968–1971), 뉴저지 교통부(1983년), 뉴저지 교통부(NJT) 등 여러 다른 당사자들이 소유하고 있다.

운영

이 다리는 NJT의 North Jersey Coast Line과 Conrail-Norfolk 남부 철도 화물 운송에 사용된다.연방 법규에 따르면 출퇴근 시간이나 열차가 홈 신호를 통과한 경우를 제외하고 신호로 다리를 개방해야 한다.[3]

대체

이 다리는 2012년 허리케인 샌디로 인한 구조적 손상을 입은 후 교체될 예정이었다.[5]이 다리는 폭풍우로 인해 덮어씌워졌고, 예인선 두 척에 부딪혔으며, 한 달 후에 저속 운행이 재개되기 전에 재정비되어야 했다.2014년에 발표된 4억 4천 6백만 달러의 연방 보조금은 기존 다리를 계속 사용하는 동안 새로운 다리를 건설하는 자금을 지원할 것이다.[6][7]2020년 9월 15일에 기공식이 열렸으며, 2026년에 완공될 예정이다.[8]
