쿠쿠르비타 마르티네즈는 멕시코 베라크루즈가 원산지인 쿠쿠르비타속[1][2][3] 식물이다.현지인들은 반쪽짜리 과일 껍질을 술잔으로 사용한다.아직 길들여지지 않았습니다.그것은 일반적으로 강과 [3][4]숲이 있는 지역에서 발견된다.
일부 당국에서는 이를 쿠쿠르비타 오키코베엔시스의 [5][6]아종으로 간주하고 있다.
1943년 리버티 하이드 베일리가 이 종을 공식적으로 기술했을 때, 겐테스 허바룸에서 베일리는 [2]작업할 꽃이나 뿌리가 없는 표본 한 개만 가지고 있었다.
