아이오닉(IONIQ)은 현대자동차의 자동차 마커로, 한국 서울에 본사를 두고 있다. 이 마크는 2020년 현대차의 전기차 라인업 서브 브랜드로 설립됐다.[1] 이 서브 브랜드는 현대차가 2025년까지 연간 100만대의 전기차 판매 목표를 달성할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이며, 아이오닉 브랜드는 이 중 56만대를 기여할 것으로 예상된다.[2]

역사

아이오닉 명칭은 서브 브랜드로 도입되기 전, 배터리-전기 구동렬과 레인지 익스텐션 가솔린 엔진을 탑재한 소형 스포티한 해치백인 2012년 현대 i-oniq 컨셉에 사용됐다.[3][4] 2016년부터 이 명칭은 가솔린 하이브리드, 플러그인 하이브리드, 풀 배터리 등 친환경 파워트레인을 선택할 수 있는 소형 리프트백인 현대 아이오닉에 사용되어 왔다.[5] 2016 아이오닉은 도요타 프리우스 하이브리드 및 닛산 리프 배터리 전기 자동차와 경쟁하기 위한 것이었다.[6][7]

2020년 8월 10일 한국 제조업체 현대자동차그룹이 런던에서 전기차 전용 자동차 브랜드 아이오닉('이온'과 '유니크'의 신차 브랜드 아이오닉('이온'과 '유니크(unique)'를 론칭을 발표했다.[8][9] 이 제조사는 출시 당시 미국 라스베이거스에서 열린 2019 가전전시회에서 선보인 현대기아차 E-GMP 공통 전기차 플랫폼을 기반으로 5, 6, 7이라는 이름의 전기차 생산 계획을 밝혔다.[10]

아이오닉 5 콤팩트 크로스오버는 2021년 2월 출시됐으며 2019 프랑크푸르트 모터쇼에서 선보인 현대 콘셉트 45 EV가 시사회했다.[5][16]

아이오닉 6 중형 세단은 2022년부터 생산될 예정이며 2020년 제네바 국제 모터쇼에서 선보일 예정이었으나 COVID-19 대유행으로 무산된 현대 프로페셔널 콘셉트카가 예고하고 있다.[17]

아이오닉 7 중형 크로스오버는 2024년부터 생산된다. SEVEN이라고 불리는 미래 생산 모델의 컨셉 버전은 2021년 11월 LA 모터쇼에서 데뷔했다.[18]

디자인

그것의 숫자 명칭에서는 짝수 숫자는 세단을 위해 남겨진 반면 홀수 번호는 십자수를 위해 남겨진다.[19][20] 현대차는 통일된 디자인 콘셉트로 8비트 비디오 게임 그래픽을 연상시키는 '보석 같은 독특한 디자인'[21]으로 특징짓는 소형 사각형 조명 요소인 '파라미터 픽셀'을 차량마다 탑재했다.[14]

헤리티지 시리즈

현대차는 헤리티지 시리즈에 전기차 파워트레인으로 개조된 현대차의 일회성 레스토모드인 여러 모델을 전시했는데 헤리티지 시리즈 모델의 헤드라이트와 테일라이트는 아이오닉 라인과 동일한 '모수 픽셀' 디자인 언어를 공유한다. 헤리티지 시리즈 차량에 장착된 파워트레인의 기술적 세부사항은 공개되지 않았다.[22][23]
