Alauni

알라우니족(Gaulish:Alaunoi, 초기의 *Alamnoi, '유목민, 방랑자')은 로마 시대 치엠제(현재의 독일) 호수 주변에 살았던 갈리아 부족이었다.

이름

프톨레마이오스(Ptolemy, AD 2기)에 의한 알라우노리(Alaunorum, AD 5기)로 언급되고 있다.[1][2][3]

알라우니라는 민족 명칭은 가울리시 알라우노이의 라틴어 형태로, 아나우니와 게나우니의 이름과는 대조적으로 '착오자, 방랑자, 유목민'으로 번역할 수 있다. 그것은 이전의 *알람노이 (노래)에서 유래되었다. *알람노스(Alamnos))는 프로토셀틱 줄기 *알라모-('herd'); cf에 가깝다. OIr. alam, Walesh alaf)는 뿌리 *almat-('떠돌아다닌다') 위에 세워졌다.[4][5]

지리

알라우니는 오늘날 바이에른의 호수인 치엠제 근처에 살았다. 그들의 영토는 코수아네테스 산맥의 동쪽, 암비슨족의 북쪽, 바이오바리족의 남쪽이었다.[6]
