Polyubiquitin-C는 인간의 UBC 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질이다.[5][6][7]Polyubiquitin-C는 UBB, UBA52, RPS27A와 함께 유비퀴틴의 원천 중 하나이다.[8]

UBC유전자(UBC유전자)는 포유류에서 스트레스 조절형 폴리우비퀴틴유전자(UBB, UBC) 2종 중 하나이다.그것은 스트레스 조건 하에서 세포의 유비퀴틴 수준을 유지하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 한다.[9][10]UBC 유전자의 결함은 중간 위치 배아 치사성으로 이어질 수 있다.

구조

유전자

UBC 유전자는 12q24.3 염색체에 위치하며, 2개의 exon으로 구성되어 있다.UBC 유전자의 촉진자는 스트레스 시 UBC 유도를 매개하는 Putterative Heat Shock Elements(HSE)를 포함한다.UBC 유전자는 그들이 포함하는 Ub 코딩 단위 수에서 UBB 유전자와 다르다.[9]UBC 유전자에 9~10개의 Ub 단위가 들어 있었다.

단백질

임상적 유의성

단일 UBC alle의 상실은 명백한 표현형태를 가지고 있지 않은 반면, UBC 유전자의 동질적 삭제는 태아 간 발달의 결함으로 인한 중간 위치 배아 치사성으로 이어지며, 세포 주기 진행의 지연과 세포 스트레스에 대한 민감성 증가로 이어진다.[10]생쥐 배아 섬유질에서 UBC 유전자를 균질하게 삭제하면 산화스트레스에 따른 세포 Ub 수준 저하와 생존성 저하를 초래할 것이라는 보고도 있다.[19]
