프리메리카, 주식회사(NYSE: PRI)는 미국과 캐나다의 중산층[3] 가정에 보험, 투자, 금융 서비스를 제공하는 회사다.[4][5]

프리메리카(Primerica)는 국민생명보험회사 프리메리카생명, 피치레, 비달리아레(Vidalia Re)의 모기업이다.[3][6] 프리메리카는 2021년 7월 e-텔레코트를 인수했다.[7][8] 프리메리카는 다단계 마케팅 회사로 묘사되어 왔다.[9][10][11][12] 프리메리카가 될 회사는 1981년에 설립되었다. 프리메리카는 2010년에 첫 공모를 했다.[13][14]

역사

1980년, A.L. 윌리엄스(1977년 설립)[citation needed]는 보스턴에 본사를 둔 매사추세츠 배상 및 생명 보험 회사(MILICO)와 계약을 체결했으며, 산타 모니카에 본사를 둔 펜코프 파이낸셜 서비스의 자회사였다. 1981년 퍼스트 아메리칸 내셔널 코퍼레이션(First American National Corporation)을 퍼스트 아메리칸 생명보험(First American Life Insurance)과 퍼스트 아메리칸 내셔널 증권(First American National Securities)의 지주사로 설립했다. 이 회사들은 후에 각각 The A.L. Williams Corporation, A.L. 사모펀드 워버그핀커스는 별도 공모에서 프리메리카의 지분 23%를 사들였고 씨티로부터 지분 10%를 추가로 매입할 수 있는 선택권을 갖고 있었다.[39] 2011년 12월 19일 씨티그룹은 프리메리카의 잔여 지분을 매각하였다.[40]

프리메리카 주식회사는 11개 계층의 대표자와 모집자가 금융 상품과 서비스를 위탁 판매하고 있는 다단계 마케팅 전략으로 묘사된 것을 사용한다.[9][42]
