지난 1월 헤딩리 스타디움에서 열린 'The Awakening'은 리즈 2023의 오프닝 행사였습니다.[45][46] 개비 로건과 산체스 페인이 진행을 맡은 10,000명의 관중은 코린 베일리 레이, 제이미 존스-부캐넌, 카데나 콕스, 조지 웹스터, 사이먼 아미티지와 그의 밴드인 LYR뿐만 아니라 오페라 노스, 리즈 웨스트 인디언 카니발의 합창단, 구어체 예술가인 테스터먼트와 댄마크 클리어리, 은탄투, 그라프트는 물론 타블라 전문가인 인더 골드핑거.[47][48] 그것의 피날레는 리즈 사람들과 이야기하는 거대한 거인을 특징으로 하는 드론 디스플레이였습니다.[49]
