정복군의 '영웅 아부 오마르 사라키브 전투'로 명명된 2016년 10~11월 알레포 공세는 시리아 내 반군 세력이 시리아 정부군과 동맹군을 상대로 2016년 10월 말 알레포 서부 외곽에서 감행한 군사작전을 말한다.[3]그 공격의 목적은 육군이 시작한 여름 캠페인이 알레포에 대한 모든 반란군의 접근을 차단한 후 알레포 시에 새로운 보급선을 건설하는 것이었다.

반란군들은 이 작전을 "모든 전투의 어머니" 즉 "알레포 대전"이라고 부르며, 전쟁의 승패를 좌우할 가능성이 있다고 묘사했다.[32][33][34]

일찍 진군한 뒤 반란군의 공세는 곧 주춤하고 주춤했다.[35]11월 중순까지 정부군은 반군 공격 시작과 동시에 잃어버린 모든 지역과 여름 운동 중 이전의 반군 공격에서 잃어버린 지역을 다시 장악했다.[6]

공세

반란군 공격 지도

10월 28일 알레포 외곽의 반란군은 주로 BM-21 그라드 로켓 등 150여 발의 포탄을 알레포 서부와 알레포 국제공항에서 발사해 민간인 15명 이상이 숨지고 최소 100여 명이 부상했다.[36]반군 단체들은 3개의 자살 차량 폭탄을 터뜨린 후 이 도시에 대한 공격을 시작했다고 발표했는데,[37] 그 중 하나는 프랑스의 자바트 파테 알-샴 자살 폭탄 테러범이 운전하는 탱크였다.[38]육군은 또 다른 차량 폭탄 2개 또는 4개도 파괴한 것으로 알려졌다.[36][39]

탱크, 장갑차, 불도저, 임시 지뢰제거기, 픽업트럭, 오토바이를 탄 반군이 시내로 접근했다.[40]공세는 전선의 15km 구간을 따라 벌어졌다.[41]도시 서부 외곽의 자살 폭탄 테러에 이어 반군은 미니안 소밀스, 알 수라 검문소,[42][43] 마분지 공장, 다히야트 알 아사드 교외 대부분 지역을 점령했고,[44][45] 정부군은 동부로 철수해 오버런되지 않았다.[46]

동시에, 1070 주택 사업 지역의 남서쪽에서 반군 공격이 격퇴되었고,[4] 반란군 탱크 1대가 파괴되었고[39], 육군은 주택 사업 동북부에 주둔하고 있었다.인근 3000호 주택사업과 북서쪽 자하라 지역에 대한 반군 공격도 격퇴됐다.[4][47]

이후 이틀에 걸쳐 민얀 지구에서 전후방 전투가[56] [57][58][59]벌어졌고 10월 31일 현재 지구 통제권은 반반으로 나뉘었다.[60]

정부 대항 지도

국제적 반응

국제앰네스티는 "무장한 반대 단체들이 민간인의 삶을 무시하는 충격적인 모습을 보였다"면서 "인구 밀집 지역 인근에 무기를 사용하는 것은 명백히 국제 인도주의법을 위반한다"고 밝혔다.이 단체는 반군 단체들에게 "군사 목표물과 민간인을 구분하지 못하는 모든 공격을 중단하라"[118]고 요구했다.

유엔 시리아 특사인 스태판 드 미수라는 알레포에서 민간인을 겨냥한 공격에 "놀라움과 충격을 받았다"고 표현했다.[119]그는 나중에 일부 반군 단체들이 민간인들이 알레포 동부를 떠나는 것을 막고 있다고 말했다.[120]
