BESIX그룹은 브뤼셀에 본사를 둔 건설그룹으로,[1] ENR 순위에 따른 세계 유수의 국제 계약업체 중 하나이다.[2] 1909년부터 활동한 BESIX는 유럽, 중동, 오세아니아, 아프리카, 북아메리카, 아시아에서 활동하고 있다.[3]

세계 최고층 타워인 두바이의 부르즈 칼리파,[4] 브뤼셀의 유럽의회 건물,[5][6] 기자 피라미드 고원에 있는 그랜드 이집트 박물관 등이 그 업적이다.[7] 2021년과 2022년에는 BESIX가 아부다비에[8] 구겐하임 박물관과 파리의 세 번째로 높은 타워인 트라이앵글 타워 건립에 선정되었다고 발표되었다.[9]

역사

  • 베식스 그룹은 1909년 스투레마이제르 가문에 의해 소시에테 벨게 데 베톤스(SBB)라는 이름으로 설립되었다.[22] 제1차 세계 대전 이후, 분쟁 중 파괴된 벨기에 항구 및 수로 재건에 참여하였다.[23]

환경

BESIX는 폐수처리장, 물 재이용시설[50], 식수처리장뿐만 아니라 [48][49]폐수 대 에너지 및 폐기물 재활용 사업의 건설, 관리, 유지관리에 참여하고 있다. 여기에는 라 메(이보리 코스트)에 있는 서아프리카에서 가장 큰 음용수 처리 공장 중 하나가 포함된다.[51] 두바이에서, 이 그룹은 세계에서 가장 큰 열 폐기물 재활용 공장을 짓고 있다.[52][53]

엔지니어링 & 이노베이션

2020년, BESIX 엔지니어링은 세계 최초로 BIM(빌딩 정보 모델링) 표준(ISO 19650-2)을 수상하였다.[65] 2017년 BESIX는 벨기에 건설사 최초로 유럽 최초로[66][67] BIM에서 최대 인증 수준을 달성한 종합건설사였으며, 2018년 BIM 어워드에서 BESIX와 그 자회사 Vanhout이 각 부문에서 상을 받았다.[68] 2017년 BIM 어워드에서 BESIX는 6개 부문 중 5개 부문에서 상을 받았으며, BIM Award of the Year도 수상했다.[69]

BESIX재단은 환경(재생에너지, 폐기물 처리), 교육(문학, 직업훈련), 건설(주거 접근성, 지속가능한 건설) 분야로 운영된다. 2009년에 설립된 이 회사는 프로젝트 파이낸싱이나 기술 제공을 통해 기존의 비영리 단체를 지원한다.[76]

중동지역의 근로조건

BESIX 그룹은 국제연합연맹(BWI)과 유럽노동위원회(European Works Council, EWC)와 공정한 노동기준에 관한 국제기본협정의 서명인이다.[77] 국제노동조합연맹(BESIX)에 대한 베식스의 의지는 건설사에 대한 정기적인 비판과 중동 이주노동자들의 노동조건에 따른 것이다.[78] BWI와 체결한 협정은 국제표준의 존중과 국제노동기구(ILO)의 규약에 기초한다.[79]

BESIX는 ILO 규정을 넘어, 예를 들어 건강 보장이나 주거의 질 측면에서 이주 노동자의 이익을 위한 다양한 이니셔티브를 실행했다.[82] BESIX는 이들을 위한 IT 교육 과정도 마련한다.[83]

2013년 이후 여러 차례 중동의 BESIX 자회사인 Six Construction이 두바이 상공회의소의 사회적 책임이라는 레이블을 수여받았다.[84] 이 라벨은 아랍에미리트에서 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 가장 높은 인정이다.[85]
