베드퍼드셔, 캠브리지셔, 노샘프턴셔의 야생동물 신탁
Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire베드퍼드셔, 캠브리지셔, 노샘프턴셔(WTBCN)를 위한 야생동물 신탁은 3945헥타르(15.23평방마일)에 이르는 126개의 자연보호구역을 관리하는 등록 자선단체다.그것은 35,000명 이상의 회원을 가지고 있으며, 베드포드셔, 캠브리지셔, 노샘프턴셔의 95%의 사람들이 보호구역에서 5마일 이내에 살고 있다.2016년 3월 31일까지는 105명의 직원을 고용했고 510만 파운드의 수입을 올렸다.[1][2]그것은 야생동물을 보존하고, 사람들이 야생동물을 위해 조치를 취하도록 영감을 주며, 조언을 제공하고 지식을 공유하는 것을 목표로 한다.[3]WTBCN은 영국을 커버하는 36개의 야생동물 신탁 중 하나이며, 영국 전체를 커버하는 46개의 신탁 중 하나이다.[4]
1912년 찰스 로스차일드는 "보존할 가치가 있다"고 여겨지는 유적지를 보호하기 위해 자연보호구역협회를 결성했다.그 협회는 법적 보호를 확보하기 위해 노력했고, 이것은 1949년 국립공원 및 농촌 접근법에 의해 시작되었다.1959년 그 협회는 1978년까지 영국과 북아일랜드 전체를 커버한 지역 야생동물 신탁에 대한 조정 역할을 맡았다.이 협회는 2004년 왕립야생생물신탁회(Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts)로 명칭을 변경했으며, '야생생물신탁회(The Wildlife Trusts)'[4]로
1956년 캠브리지셔와 엘리 자연주의 섬 신탁이 설립되었고, 1961년 베드퍼드셔와 헌팅돈셔 야생동물 신탁, 1963년 노샘프턴셔 야생동물 신탁, 1987년 피터버러 야생동물 그룹이 그 뒤를 이었다.베드퍼드셔와 캠브리지셔 신탁은 1990년에 합병되었고, 추가 합병으로 1994년에 베드퍼드셔, 캠브리지셔, 노샘프턴셔, 피터버러에 대한 야생동물 신탁이 탄생했다.피터버러는 2011년에 그 이름에서 삭제되었다.[5]
52개의 보호구역은 특수과학적 관심지역(SSI), 6개는 국제적 중요성을 지닌 람사르 습지지역, 6개는 유럽연합 야생조류보전에 관한 지침에 따른 특별보호지역, 2개는 국민자연보호구역, 4개는 자연보전심의지역, 1개는 특별보존지역, 2개는 특별보존지역, 2개는 특별보존지역이다.뛰어난 자연미의 칠터 지역에 있는 한 곳은 지질 보존 검토 현장이고 18곳은 지역 자연 보호 지역이다.가장 큰 부지는 186헥타르(460에이커)의 오우세 와셔로, 국제적으로 야생조류 및 와이드 사육에 중요하다.[6]0.7헥타르(1.7에이커)로 가장 작은 곳은 체티샴 메도우와 스토크 우드 엔드 쿼터인데, 둘 다 SSI이다.[7][8]
