캐나다 앨버타주는 2009년 기준으로 약 31,000km(19,000mi)의 지방 고속도로망을 가지고 있으며, 이 중 24,851km(15,442mi)가 [1]포장되어 있다.
앨버타 주의 모든 지방 고속도로는 앨버타 정부의 한 부서인 앨버타 교통(AT)이 관리합니다.이 네트워크에는 2개의 다른 번호의 고속도로가 포함되어 있습니다.
- 앨버타 주의 핵심 고속도로 네트워크를 구성하는 1-216 시리즈(이전의 주요 고속도로) - 일반적으로 포장되어 있고 교통량이 가장 많습니다.
- 500~986 시리즈는 보다 로컬한 접근을 제공하며 자갈 표면의 비율이 높습니다.
역사
1926년 앨버타는 번호 체계를 [2]위해 고속도로를 다른 색으로 표시하는 시스템을 중단했다.1928년, 에드먼턴에서 미국 국경까지 이어진 자갈길은 2,310 km(1,440 mi)[2]로 구성되었습니다.
1973년 이전에는 확장 고속도로 시스템이 한 자릿수와 두 자릿수 고속도로로 구성되었으며, 일부 번호에는 문자 접미사가 붙습니다(예: 1X, [3]26A번 고속도로).1973년에는 500년대부터 세 자릿수를 사용한 제2의 고속도로가 등장하였고, 기존의 고속도로는 계속 [4]지방도로로 불리게 되었다.1974년에 지방도는 1차 [5]고속도로로 알려지게 되었고, 1990년에 2차 도로는 [6]2차 고속도로로 알려지게 되었다.
2000년에 2차 고속도로가 폐지되어 대부분이 1차 [7]고속도로가 되었다.확장된 1차 고속도로 시스템은 2개의 하위 집합으로 나뉘었다: 1-216 [8]시리즈가 된 이전의 1차 고속도로와 500-986 [9]시리즈가 된 이전의 2차 고속도로.2010년에는 모든 고속도로가 지방도로로 알려지게 되었고, 두 개의 번호가 [10][11]매겨진 시리즈를 유지하게 되었다.그럼에도 불구하고, 이 시리즈는 각각 1차 고속도로와 2차 고속도로로 언급되는 경우가 많다.
1 ~ 216 시리즈
앨버타 주의 1번에서 216번 지방도로가 앨버타 주의 주요 고속도로입니다.캘거리 주변 순환도로와 에드먼턴 주변 순환도로는 각각 201번과 216번으로 번호가 매겨진 것을 제외하고 1번부터 100번까지 번호가 매겨집니다.이러한 고속도로에 적용되는 숫자는 순환 도로와 교차하는 핵심 남북 및 동서 고속도로의 할당된 번호를 합산한 것이다.캘거리에서 201번 고속도로는 2번 남북 고속도로와 1번 동서 고속도로에서 파생됩니다.에드먼턴에서 216번 고속도로는 같은 남북 고속도로 2번과 16번 동서 고속도로에서 파생됩니다.
이 시리즈에서는 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 15, 16, 28, 28A, 35, 43, 49, 63, 201 및 216번 고속도로의 전부 또는 일부가 캐나다 국도 시스템(NHS)[12]의 핵심 경로로 지정된다.63번 고속도로에서 콜드레이크까지 28번 고속도로는 NHS 공급 경로로 지정되고 레인보우 호수에서 88번 고속도로 사이의 58번 고속도로는 NHS 북부/[12]원격 경로로 지정된다.
1, 2, 3, 4, 16 및 43번 고속도로는 앨버타 주에서 가장 중요한 지역 간 및 국제 고속도로로 간주되며, 대부분의 길이 또는 전체에 걸쳐 고속도로(고속 도로) 또는 고속도로로 구분됩니다.속도 제한은 일반적으로 110km/h(68mph)로 구분된 고속도로/고속도로와 100km/h(62mph)로 구분됩니다.앨버타 로키스 내 국립공원을 통과하는 1번 고속도로와 16번 고속도로의 구간으로 90km/h(56mph) 또는 70km/h(43mph)가 될 수 있다.
