5β-Reductase, or Δ4-3-oxosteroid 5β-reductase (EC 1.3.1.3, 3-oxo-Δ4-steroid 5β-reductase, androstenedione 5β-reductase, cholestenone 5β-reductase, cortisone 5β-reductase, cortisone Δ4-5β-reductase, steroid 5β-reductase, testosterone 5β-reductase, Δ4-3-ketosteroid 5β-reductase, Δ4-5β-reductase, Δ4-hydrogenase, 4,5β-dihydrocortisone:NADP+ Δ-oxidoreductase4, 3-oxo-5β-스테로이드:NADP+ Δ-oxidoreductase4)는 체계적 이름 5β-콜레스탄-3-1을 가진 효소다.NADP+ 4,5-산소 유도효소.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]이 효소는 다음과 같은 화학 반응을 촉진한다.
- (1) 5β-콜레스트탄-3-1 + NADP+ 콜레스트-4-en-3-1 + NADPH+ + H
- (2) 17,21-dihydroxy-5β-pregnane-3,11,20-tione + NADP+ 코티손 + NADPH+ + H
인간 효소는 프로게스테론, 17α-히드로록시프로게스테론, 안드로스테리온에 효율적으로 작용하며, 테스토스테론은 5β 감소 대사물에 작용한다.알도스테론, 코르티코스테론, 코티솔에도 어느 정도 효과가 있다.
