가우나는 인도의 북부 관습이며 결혼의 완성과 관련된 의식이다. 그것은 아동 결혼의 관습과 관련이 있다.[1] 결혼식은 결혼 몇 년 후에 거행된다.[2][3] 결혼식이 열리기 전에 신부는 자신의 생가 집에 머무른다.[4] 결혼은 단지 의식적인 결합으로 간주되고 부부생활은 오직 하나 된 후에만 시작된다. 즉 결혼은 하나 된 후에만 완성된다.[5]

대중문화에서

1950년 힌디 영화는 가우나라는 제목을 실었다. 아미안 차카라바티가 감독을 맡았고 자갓 픽처스가 프로듀싱했으며 후사날 바그트람이 감독을 맡은 음악이다.[6] 힌디 텔레비전 연속극인 아글레 야남 모헤 비티야 하이 기조와 발리카 바두의 줄거리는 이 관행을 언급하고 있다.[7][8]
