뱅크스타운 시(City of Bankstown)는 1895년부터 2016년까지 오스트레일리아 시드니 남서부 지역에 있었던 지방 정부 지역이었다.뱅크스타운 시의회의 마지막 시장은 노동당 당원인 Clr Khal Asfour였다.

NSW 정부 독립 가격 및 규제 재판소의 2015년 지방 정부 경계 검토에서는 뱅크스타운 시가 캔터베리 시와 합병하여 110 평방 킬로미터(42 평방 mi)의 면적을 가진 새로운 위원회를 구성하고 약 351,[2]000명의 인구를 지원할 것을 권고했다.2016년 5월 12일 NSW 정부는 뱅크스타운이 캔터베리 시와 합병하여 캔터베리-뱅크스타운으로 알려지게 될 것이라고 발표했다.

역사

초기 역사와 발전

1997년 7월 1일 화요일, 건물을 현대 기준에 맞추기 위한 보수 공사로부터의 불꽃으로 인해 발생한 건물 화재는 많은 의회 기록과 역사적 [32][33][34]자료와 함께 행정 청사가 완전히 소실되는 결과를 초래했다.의회 사무실이 인근 뱅크스타운 시빅 타워로 이전하면서 행정청사 잔해는 정리되었고 그 부지는 2000년 [35]6월 13일 공식적으로 폴 키팅 공원으로 명명된 새로운 중앙 공원의 장소가 되었다.

식물학의 정신
