CDPPB는 메타보틱 글루탐산 수용체 하위형 mGluR에5 선택적으로 양성합성 모듈레이터 역할을 하는 과학 연구에 사용되는 약물이다.[1][2][3]동물 모델에서 항정신병 효과가 있으며,[4][5] mGluR5 조절기는 조현병 치료제뿐 아니라 다른 용도의 잠재적 약물로도 조사 중이다.[6][7]
