힐드 그린 및 롱 레인 요금 납부자 협회는 스톡포트의 메트로폴리탄 자치구 힐드 그린 병동에 본부를 둔 요금 납부자 협회다.

1927년 창당한 이래 지방선거 때마다 협회가 후원하는 무소속 의원들이 구의회 의석을 독점적으로 차지해 다른 정당이 의석을 차지하지 못하고 있다.[2][3] 협회는 1974년 스톡포트가 된 이후 시장 3명과 부시장 2명도 공급해 왔다.[4]

협회는 성명서나 당 정책을 갖고 있지 않고 오히려 그 지역에 물리적으로 살고 있는 참의원들을 후원해 지역사회를 더 잘 대표할 수 있도록 한다고 밝히고 있다.[5]

역사

이 협회는 힐드 그린 선거구 창설에 따라 1927년에 결성되었다.[2][4][6]

1962년, 요금 납부자들은 컨택트라는 커뮤니티 잡지를 창간했다.[4][6]

요율협회는 역사를 통해 맨체스터 공항의 활주로 건설과 개발에 여러 차례 얽히게 된다. 1960년 4월로 거슬러 올라가면, 협회는 Hale Barns 및 Handforth 요금 납부자 협회와 힘을 합쳐 소음 공해 우려로 인해 새로운 활주로 개발에 반대하는 반대 운동을 주도했다.[7] 1969년 공항이 창설한 맨체스터 공항 협의회 회의에서 위원장은 "공항협의회를 매파처럼 지켜보고 있고, 제자리걸음을 서슴지 않을 것"[9]이라고 말했다.[8] 1997년, 이 단체는 맨체스터 공항 공동 행동 그룹, 활주로 2 건설 반대 스톡포트 운동과 같은 지역 단체들과 함께 캠페인을 시작했다.[10][11] 피터 번스 의원은 지역민원 속에 건설된 지 거의 4년이 지난 2005년 활주로에서 "맨체스터 공항이 이미 이 활주로의 비행경로 아래 주민들에게 주어진 사업을 어겼다고 생각한다 - 그리고 그것은 단지 102시간 동안만 열려 있었다"고 성명을 발표했다. 맨체스터 공항 대변인은 파편 때문에, 비행기들이 스톡포트 방향에서 두 번째 활주로에 착륙할 수밖에 없었다고 말했다.[12]
