리비아 공습과 계획된 공격

2014년 11월 12일, 리비아 공군 전투기들은 벵가지, 토브룩, 라브라크 공항에서 폭발한 차량 폭탄에 대한 보복으로 데르나를 공습했습니다. 이집트 군 공습

2015년 2월 15일, 리비아의 이슬람 국가는 이집트 출신의 콥트 기독교인 21명을 참수하는 영상을 공개했습니다. 이집트 공군은 수 시간 만에 IS 훈련 장소와 무기 비축량에 대한 공습으로 대응해 데르나에서 무장세력 50명을 사살했습니다.[44] "공식" 리비아 정부의 명령을 받고 활동하는 전투기들도 이집트의 공습에 협조하여 데르나의 목표물들을 타격한 것으로 알려졌습니다.[45] 리비아의 한 관리는 더 많은 합동 공습이 뒤따를 것이라고 말했습니다.[45]

2015~2016년 데르나 전투

2015년 3월, 토브룩에 본부를 둔 정부에 소속된 리비아 국군은 도시에 대한 미래의 공세에 대비하여 데르나 시를 포위하기 시작했습니다.[43] 그러나 2015년 5월까지 지휘관과 소속 부족 간의 분쟁으로 인해 작전이 중단되었습니다.[46]
