Sulfotransferase 1A3/1A4는 인간에서 SUT1A3유전자에 의해 암호화된 효소다.[3][4][5]
Sulfotransferase 효소는 많은 호르몬, 신경전달물질, 약물, 그리고 이질생물성화합물의 황산염의 결합을 촉진한다.이러한 세포질 효소는 조직 분포와 기질 특이성이 다르다.유전자 구조(exon의 수와 길이)는 가족 구성원 간에 유사하다.이 유전자는 열가소성 효소 활성과 함께 페놀술도탄스페라제를 암호화한다.16번 염색체의 p팔에는 4개의 설포트란스페라아제 유전자가 있는데, 이 유전자와 SUT1A4는 분할복제로부터 생겨났다.이 유전자는 4개의 황산염화효소 유전자 중 가장 중심적이다.이 유전자의 엑손은 GIY-YIG 도메인(GIYD1)을 포함하는 단백질을 인코딩하는 유전자의 엑손과 겹친다.동일한 단백질을 인코딩하는 세 가지 다른 분할 변형이 설명되었다.[5]
