STUB1STUB1(StIP1 호몰로지, 단백질 1)은 단백질 CHIP(HSC70-Interaction 단백질의 C terminus)를 코딩하는 인간 유전자다.[5][6]
함수
이 유전자에 의해 인코딩된 CHIP 단백질은 체세포 단백질 HSC70과 HSP70의 ATPase 활성과 결합하여 억제하며 HSC70-HSP70 기질 결합 주기의 전방 반응을 차단한다.[6]또 칩은 E3 유비퀴틴 리가제 활성을 보유하고 있으며,[7] 주로 샤페론 결합 오폴딩 단백질을 중심으로 유비쿼터스화를 촉진한다.
칩은 급성 스트레스 시 HSP70 유도를 향상시키고 스트레스 회복 과정 중에 이직률을 조정한다.이에 따라 칩은 스트레스와 회복 과정에서 체세포 분비를 조절해 단백질 자기중심주의를 유지하는 것으로 보인다.[8]
STUB1의 돌연변이는 스피노세레벨라텍사스형 16을 유발한다.[9]
