Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs 차트는 미국에서 가장 인기 있는 R&B 및 힙합 노래의 순위를 매기고 빌보드에서 매주 발행합니다. 순위는 라디오 방송, 판매 데이터 및 스트리밍 활동 측정을 기반으로 합니다.[1] 이 차트는 100개의 자리를 가졌으나 2012년 10월 50개의 자리로 단축되었습니다.[2][3]

차트는 도시, 또는 주로 아프리카계 미국인 공연장에서 대중 음악 노래의 성공을 추적하는 데 사용됩니다. 재즈, 리듬 앤 블루스, 두 웁, 로큰롤, 소울, 펑크 등 다양한 시기에 걸쳐 지배적이었던 이 음악은 오늘날 현대 R&B와 힙합이 지배적입니다. 차트는 창간 당시부터 당시 산업을 정확하게 반영하기 위해 여러 번 이름을 바꿨습니다.

역사

1942년부터 빌보드는 가장 많이 팔린 아프리카계 미국인 음악 차트를 발표했습니다. 처음에는 할렘 히트 퍼레이드, 그 다음에는 레이스 레코드로 시작했습니다. 그 후 1949년, 빌보드는 R&B를 주류 어휘에 입력한 Rhythm and Blues 차트를 출판하기 시작했습니다.[4] 이 세 개의 차트는 1958년 10월에 하나의 Hot R&B 싱글 차트로 통합되었습니다.
