'Edge of Reality'는 엘비스 프레슬리가 10월 23일 영화관에 개봉한 1968년 영화 'Live a Little,[2][3] Love a Little'의 사운드 트랙의 일부로 처음 녹음한 곡이다.

1968년 10월[4] 또는 11월에 반대편에서 "If I Can Dream"(If I Can Dream, 곧 발매될 앨범 엘비스, 곧 발매될 NBC TV 컴백 스페셜의 사운드 트랙)과 함께 싱글(RCA Victor 47-9670)으로 발매되었다.[5][2][6][7] 그 싱글은 오렌지색 라벨의 첫 번째 프레슬리 음반이었다.[4]

1970년 12월 1일 싱글 "If I Can Dream" / "Edge of Reality"가 RCA Victor's Gold Standard Series(다른 9개의 프레슬리 싱글과 함께)의 일부로 다시 발매되었다.[8]
