mastodonsauroid temnospondyl의 Wellesaurus는 멸종된 유인원 속이다. 는 민물 환경에 살았던 그들은 상륙 육식 동물이다.[1]
Wellesaurus 때 그 속 1971년에 지명되었다는 연결된 여러 종들을 흡수하고 있습니다. 그 모식종, Wellesaurus peabodyi, 원래 Parotosaurus peabodyi로 1965년에 지명되었다. 이 종은 UCMP 36058, 우팟키 회원은 Moenkopi 형성 아리조나의에서부터 완벽한 두개골에 근거한다. 많은 다른 해골들은 지역에서 그 종에 언급 출토됩니다.
