더 백 인 더 핸즈(THITS라고도 약칭)는 2008년 결성된 뉴욕 브루클린 출신의 미국 전자음악 듀오다.[1]밴드는 엘레노어 에버델(보컬스, 키보드)과 제이슨 프리드먼(기타, 프로그래밍)으로 구성되어 있다.[2]이 밴드는 신스팝과 포스트펑크, 드림팝 요소를 혼합했다.[3]

역사

2007년 가수 홀리 미란다는 에버델을 프리드먼에게 소개했다.[4]에버델은 더 보그스에 투어 멤버로 합류했다.[1]두 사람은 초기 힙합, 프렌치 하우스, 디스코, 스카, 더브, 포스트 펑크 등 장르의 음악 취향이 비슷하다는 사실을 알고 밴드를 결성하기로 했다.[5]

이 밴드의 이름은 라코타 네이션이 와이오밍에서 1866년 페테르만 파이트에 준 구절에서 따왔다. 이 구절에서 크레이지 호스는 그의 전사들을 승리로 이끌었고, 그로 인해 100명의 적들이 죽었다.[3]
