심볼

The symbole, also called ar vuoc'h ("the cow"), was an object used by Francophone headmasters in public and private schools in Brittany, French Flanders, Occitania, Basque Country and North Catalonia as a means of punishment for students caught speaking Breton, Flemish, Occitan, Basque, or Catalan during the 19th and 20th centuries.^[1]

일반적으로 이 학생은 브레톤, 오시탄, 카탈루냐(파투아라고 한다)로 말하는 것을 잡은 후 다른 동료 학생들에게 공생을 전하도록 되어 있었다.쉬는 시간이나 반나절, 또는 그 날에 그 물건을 가지고 있는 학생은 예를 들어 수동 노동, 추가 숙제, 체벌, 또는 교장이 주도하는 조직적인 조롱 등으로 벌을 받게 될 것이다.

물체의 특성

그 공생은 다음과 같을 수 있다.

• 때로는 속이 비어 있지 않고 목에 두른 평범한 나무 나막신.
• 목에 두른 슬레이트1943년부터 1949년까지 플로아레 공립학교에서 학생들은 "제 파렐 브레톤" ("나는 브레톤을 말한다")을 슬레이트 위에 쓰도록 요구받았다.
• 단추나 장난감 사보타주, 배지 등 주머니에 넣고 다닐 물건

사용 목적은 다음과 같다.

• 대상 언어(브레톤, 서양어...)의 학교 및 놀이 제외
• 정해진 언어 규칙을 따르지 않은 사람들을 조롱하는 행위
• 학생들에게 피해를 주고 학생 결속을 예방하는 데 도움을 준다.
