프레스 글라스(또는 패턴 글라스)[1]는 플런저를 이용해 녹은 글라스를 틀에 눌러 만든 글라스의 일종이다.[2] 그것은 1825년 미국 발명가 존 P. 베이크웰에 의해 가구용 손잡이를 만들기 위해 처음 특허를 얻었다.

이 기술은 1820년대부터 미국에서, 특히 1830년대부터 프랑스, 보헤미아, 스웨덴에서 개발되었다. 19세기 중반까지 대부분의 값싼 대량생산 유리제품이 눌려졌다(1850–1910).[1] 압착유리의 한 종류는 카니발유리다.[3] 20세기 초에 제작된 페인팅된 프레스 유리는 종종 구푸스 유리라고 불린다.[citation needed] 이 방법은 구슬을 만드는 데도 사용된다.[4]
