프랑코아과(Francoaceae)는 흔히 신부화환으로 알려진 프랑코아속과 테틸라속을 포함한 제라니아목의 작은 과입니다.프랑코과(Francoaceae)는 다양한 분류 체계에서는 과로 인정되지만 APG III 체계에서는 프랑코과(Francoaceae)가 멜리안투스과([1]Melianthaceae)에 포함된다.APG IV 체계에서 프랑코아과는 다시 과로 인정되며, 멜리안스과는 프랑코아과의 [2]외접에 포함된다.
프랑코아과는 여러해살이 초본으로 이루어진 여러해살이풀로 교대로 이루어진 잎의 기초 집적이 특징이다.잎날(라미나)은 절개되거나 전체가 된다.
