이스라엘은 2007년 3월 30일 유엔 장애인권리협약에 서명하고 2012년 9월 28일 이를 비준했다.[1]

이스라엘의 장애 권리는 장애 연금, 접근성 규정, 치료, 특수 교육, 보호 작업장 및 보조 생활에 기초한다.

21세기 초부터 인구 25만 명의 이스라엘의 장애인들은 [2]비투아 르우미(이스라엘 국민보험연구소)에서 이스라엘의 최저임금 수준으로 장애연금을 겨우 균등하게 만들었다. 2017년 활동가들은 낮은 장애연금에 대해 시위, 주요 도로, 고속도로, 산업 봉쇄, 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS) 활동, 고등법원 청원, 이스라엘 정부와의 협상, 크네셋 법안 등을 통해 항의했다.[3]

2017년 전체 장애인연금은 2,342 ILS였다.[4] 올해 최저임금은 5000 ILS로 2017년 12월 월 5300 ILS까지 올랐다.[5][6][7][8][9]

이스라엘 선수들은 1960년부터 매년 하계 패럴림픽에 출전해 1968년 텔아비브에서 패럴림픽을 개최해 왔다. 2021년 현재 이스라엘은 동계 패럴림픽에 참가한 적이 없다.
