카디프 지구(Welsh: Caerdydd)는 1974년부터 1996년까지 웨일스의 사우스 글래모건의 두 지방 자치구 중 하나였다.
그 지역은 카디프의 이전 자치구와 몇몇 주변 도시들의 지역을 구성했다. 1974년 4월 1일 군 자치구의 도시 지위를 이어주는 서한이 승인되었다.[2] 따라서 이 지역은 카디프 시의회가 관할하는 카디프 시로 지정되었다.
The district was formed by the Local Government Act 1972, from the county borough of Cardiff, the parishes of Lisvane, Llanedeyrn, Radyr, St. Fagans and Tongwynlais from the former Cardiff Rural district in the administrative county of Glamorgan and the parish of St Mellons from the Magor and St Mellons Rural District in the administrative county omonmouthshire.[3][1]
이 지역은 1994년 지방정부(월레즈)법에 의해 폐지되었는데, 그 때 판트르치가 카디프 시·군으로 추가되면서 재건되었다.
