탄산 무수효소 6는 인간 에게 있어서 CA6 유전자 에 의해 암호화된 효소 다.[5] [6] 침 속에 존재하기 때문에 '구스틴'이라고도 하며, 피하수증 이 있는 개인에게는 보통보다 낮은 수준의 침샘 아연으로도 불린다.[7] [8]
함수 이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 탄산화 무수화물 의 여러 이소성분 중 하나이다. 이 단백질은 침샘에서 풍부하게 발견 되며 침의 기능은 알 수 없지만, 단백질은 이산화탄소의 가역성 수화작용에 역할을 할 수 있다.[6]
CA VI는 위장관의 점막뿐만 아니라 치아 표면의 적절한 pH 홈스테이션을 유지하는 데 참여할 것을 제안했다.
